Is it squirrel-proof?
After a lot of research and consultation, we’ve come to the conclusion that any attempt to prevent squirrels from visiting would be a futile task. Instead, we focused on making sure that the materials used will be able to withstand significant damage, which should prevent the squirrels from destroying the feeder itself. Right now our priorities lie in making sure that no harm could come to our feathered friends. We’ve shared some best humane practices to keep your squirrels away from your feeder here.
When will my order arrive?
Most items will be dispatched from our warehouse within 5 days of placing your order. The Smart Hummingbird Feeder is open for pre-orders that will start shipping out in May 2024.
What are the camera specs? Can we see more example photos?
5MP with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and 720p video postcards. 1080p video postcards are also available with our Bird Buddy Pro subscription. You can see some of our user’s photos here!
Does it need Wi-Fi to operate? Does it have local storage?
Yes, a 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi connection is currently required in order to use your Bird Buddy.
How do I connect my Bird Buddy?

Can more than one person connect to one Bird Buddy?
Yes, the Bird Buddy app allows you to share the experience with friends and family by adding up to three people to your feeder through the app. With the Bird Buddy Pro subscription, you can add up to ten people to your feeder.
How long does the battery last? How is it charged?
The Bird Buddy camera can last up to 1 month on a full charge for many users, depending on usage and environmental factors. Battery life can vary due to bird activity, live stream usage, and local conditions (like sunlight for solar charging or colder weather). You can read more about battery life here.
What should I do with the battery after it’s dead?
Please take it to a proper recycling point! If in doubt about where to find one, please get in touch with your local municipal office or waste disposal service.
Do you ship worldwide?
Newly placed orders can currently only be purchased in the US.
Is the app only in English, or are other languages available?
At the moment, our app is available in English (US), English (UK), German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, and Slovenian.
Is Bird Buddy weatherproof? What are the operating temperatures?
Yes, the feeder itself is weatherproof. The central module that houses the camera will withstand temperatures ranging from -5°F to 120°F (-20°C to 50°C). It is also detachable so you can easily take it out and safely store it inside on extreme days.
What is your Refund Policy and Warranty?
We use authorized 30-day returns. To return your order, you will need to reach out to our support team within 30 days of receiving your order.
Our standard warranty period is 24 months from the date of delivery, and it applies to all Bird Buddy feeders and their respective add-ons completely free of charge. That does not apply to the Seed Subscription or merch items.

My son treated me to the Bird Buddy. Set up was good/easy/average. The camera is awesome, and the features on the phone app are so wonderful. I didn’t even realize all the features until I owned it for a month! There isn’t enough space here to go over all the fun things you can do and learn. If I had to say a few things apart from the fabulous camera technology, I think it pays to say that it is not squirrel proof. I owned it one day, and a squirrel wrecked the thing. Knocked it out of the tree because I only hung it off a short branch, it fell apart and the wire to the solar roof and camera was chewed in half. No refund, no replacement from Bird Buddy itself. Did get a 30% off new roof. The red part (perch) disappeared after some chewing, and it is permanently gone. Camera still works great; features great; got new solar roof with the discount. Now I secure it much better with bungie cords. Not the easiest to fill, but every other feature is fabulous.

The BirdBuddy is great fun and entertaining to have. Due the BirdBuddy I learn a lot about birds, way more than I ever thought I would. I love my Bird Buddy. This is an excellent project to extend the enjoyment of my bird feeder into my work day. I always enjoy seeing the ‘postcards’ that arrive when birds visit my yard. The software is continually improving. I have the solar roof option and it is proving to be highly efficient. The produce is really a delight.

This really is a great product. You get great quality photos and videos of the birds living and feeding in your environment. The camera design almost seems to trigger the birds to look directly into the lens.
This is a relatively new product that already works really well. Despite that, the creators are making constant improvements to the Bird Buddy app. This is a great way to have access to a fantastic product that just keeps getting better.

I purchased 2 bird buddy’s, 1 for myself and one for my 87 yo Mom. They both work fabulously. It is very easy to setup and use. My Mom and I started receiving post cards immediately. Both were setup prior to December 2022 and I was shocked at the number of birds visiting our bird feeders on a daily basis. We live 2 hours apart and we share our feeders with each other in the app, we often discuss the variety of birds we see each day. It’s been a wonderful shared experience and brings my Mom lots of joy.
